Selects Officers
Meals-on-Wheels of Johnson & Ellis Counties’ Advisory
Council selected Council officers at Wednesday’s March 16
meeting. Rusty Ballard of Waxahachie will serve as Chair, Charlie
Morton of Ovilla will serve as Vice Chair, and serving as Secretary
is Karen Cox of Midlothian. The officers will be responsible for
guiding the group as a whole and being a liaison with the current
Meals-on-Wheels Board of Trustees. In addition, the Council elected
to hold monthly meetings every third Wednesday of the month.
The Council consists of 27 local persons representing the different
communities throughout Ellis County. These service areas include
Midlothian, Palmer, Waxahachie, Ennis, Ferris, Italy, Milford, Maypearl,
Red Oak, and Ovilla. Each person on the Council voluntarily chose
to participate after an invitation was extended to them. This Council
has been established to guide Meals-on-Wheels services in Ellis
County, as well as plan for the future of the organization which
will include services and fundraising efforts.
“The Council is ready to get started,” Vinsen Faris,
executive director said. “This month’s meeting was very
exciting and we look forward to what is in store for the future
of both the Council and the organization.”
In attendance at Wednesday’s meeting were: Bettie Gray,
Betty Jeffcoat, Charles “Charlie” Morton, Debbie Box,
Jeff Lincks, Joann Parker, Karen Cox, Rainey Hicks, Dick Braucher,
Richard Dormier, Rusty Ballard, Bob Sokoll, Pat Payne, Mayor Todd
Little, Ruth Shugart and Wayne Baggerly. |
