| Meals-on-Wheels Launches "E-news
Updates" for Community
Exciting changes are happening at Meals-on-Wheels of Johnson and
Ellis Counties! In order to better inform others about the organization,
Meals-on-Wheels will begin sending “e-news updates”
by email on a regular basis.
“The website has been a great addition in communicating with
our donors, volunteers, and clients. In addition, it has brought
new people to our organization,” said Amy Jackson, director
of development. “Each person involved in Meals-on-Wheels is
a valued friend and partner. Therefore, we want everyone to be better
informed and share the Meals-on-Wheels ‘story’ with
others,” added Jackson.
Meals-on-Wheels also encourages those that receive the email to
share it with others, and let them know about what Meals-on-Wheels
is doing in their community to better serve the homebound elderly
and disabled.
The “e-news updates” will not only be informational,
but will direct the recipient to the Meals-on-Wheels website. The
site is regularly updated and designed to bring awareness to the
organization, as well as highlighting opportunities to become more
involved. The user may read up-to-date news releases, directly contact
Meals-on-Wheels staff, access the quarterly newsletter, the Bread
Basket, and even donate online! The donation
page is secure, so that credit cards may be used. Memorial or
honor donations can also be given online.
“We appreciate the continued community support of Meals-on-Wheels,
and hope that better communication will increase awareness of our
needs and the needs of the homebound population we serve,”
remarked Jackson.
