FUN FORD WEEKEND FANS CAN DONATE TO MEALS-ON-WHEELS FOR A DISCOUNTED TICKET AT TEXAS MOTORPLEX
Fans That Bring Canned Food Items Get in for Just $5

ENNIS, Texas (Oct. 1, 2011) – The holiday season is right around the corner and unfortunately, there are many people who will go without the big family dinners that warm the soul and fill the belly. Meals-on-Wheels is a nonprofit organization created to help those who need help – especially when it comes to food and a daily connection with a caring member of the community.

Texas Motorplex staffers drive a Meals-on-Wheels route in Ennis, but are now asking fans to help stock the shelves of Meals on Wheels this holiday season.

Fans who bring canned food items for the Saturday, Oct. 8 Fun Ford Weekend will get an adult spectator ticket for just $5! Meals-on-Wheels will have representatives on site collecting the food that will immediately help an organization that has seen an increase of clientele this year.

“Meals-on-Wheels of Johnson and Ellis counties is grateful to Texas Motorplex for its continued partnership in serving the needy homebound elderly and disabled of Ellis County,” said Lisa Hicks, Meals-on-Wheels representative. “Without the support of businesses and volunteers, Meals-on-Wheels would not be able to meet the needs of our neighbors.”

Fun Ford Weekend is finally making its return to Texas Motorplex and the nation in 2011 and will expand the series nationally in 2012.

Fun Ford Weekend is a celebration of one of America’s most popular brands. The Motorplex will be filled with a car show, swap meet, car corral, concert, BBQ picnic and of course, drag racing with the region’s top racers including the blazing-fast fan-favorites – Pro  Mods.

Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium-style drag racing facility ever constructed. Built in 1986, Texas Motorplex has been the place of many drag racing milestones and world record performances. The Billy Meyer-owned facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between March and November each year and also features the Champion’s Club – an 11,000 square-foot facility – that serves fully catered events throughout the year.
